Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the design of racks and touring packages interface and interconnect, working with the Sales Managers when building quotes as needed or requested.
  2.  Help develop standards for Spectrum system packing. 
  3.  Supervise and assist with the prep of equipment and documentation.

  4. Help clients with troubleshooting and proper use/implementation of equipment and Spectrum configurations/packaging. Be on call to support them during and after normal shop business hours.
  5. Keep records of support calls with clients, and follow up with the Sales Manager to ensure that the proper steps are taken to resolve any outstanding issues. 
  6. Keep good records, drawings, and/or computer files, backed up off site, of all rack layouts and other documentation for future reference and rebuilds. This includes all versions of files, from earlier to recent. Also keep specific records of software installed when a job leaves, and refer to it for future requested rebuilds. 
  7. Supervise and assist with the de-prep of rack electronics, including but not limited to Mac Minis, backing up tour files, managing licenses, archiving pertinent wireless and Dante files, etc.  
  8. Ensure that cross-rented or client owned gear is restored to original state during the de-prep process, specifically cross-rented outboard equipment and recording/Pro Tools systems. 
  9. Update or downgrade software/ firmware for RF gear, I/Os, and computers as needed.  Ensure that those pieces are up to date and compatible with other equipment being used. 
  10. Maintain good working order of mix position electronics and wireless equipment. 
  11. Oversee that the correct size and type of UPS, word clocks, fiber, and cables required for the job are used. 
  12. Keep up to date on understanding the current RF landscape—how current and upcoming broadcast restrictions affect Spectrum-owned RF broadcast equipment (wireless microphones, in-ear systems). See that Spectrum purchases any necessary licenses for lawful use of transmitters. 
  13. Assist the Console Electronics Supervisor (CES) with minor repairs, like fader or card swaps, or in arranging for the repairs. For any rack equipment repairs needing to be done outside of Spectrum, email the Sales Manager, copying the CES.  Repairs need to be documented in Flex by the RES or CES. 
  14. Work with manufacturers as needed for service, repairs, and updates. 
  15. Confer with CES on additional purchases that need to be made: hardware, program licenses, etc. Email the Sales Manager, copying the CES. 
  16. Assist with work in the rack shop and console world. 
  17. Educate and train others on rack electronics and Spectrum’s packaging/wiring standard. 

Applicants Must:

  • Have 2+ years experience in audio. 

  • Be knowledgeable in audio signal flow, system design, and packaging. 

  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Be able to direct and manage workers in a positive and motivating manner. 

  • Possess good skills in planning, organizing, and time management.  

  • Be a multitasker. 

  • Be self directed and self-motivated, with a sense of urgency. 

  • Be able to problem-solve and make decisions. 

  • Have a superior work ethic and integrity. 

  • Have a high school diploma; college classes are preferred.
